Wallpaper Hanger
Boston area wallcovering installer Bill Archibald felt honored to be a part of the complete renovation of this historic Back Bay building when it was returned to its original glory as a single family residence after decades of abuse having been broken up into apartments.
Mass paperhanger Bill Archibald had been contracted to hang the wallpaper by one of Greater Boston's premier painting companies, Catchlight, Inc. The pipe staging in the top picture was used by Catchlight to work their magic on the walls, trim, and ceiling. It remained in place to provide Bill Archibald and two other Boston area wallpaper hangers convenient access the 24 foot high walls.
. Climbing the staging and manuevering one's body through the cross bracing while handling long heavy strips of pasted paper was not without challenge. However, when a crew of experienced paper hangers are working together, the necessary communication and skills are in place to produce a flawless installation of this Brunschwig et Fils "Upton Damask".
The cooperation between all the various trades allowed the entire job to be completed successfully and on schedule.
The lower shot shows the completed work with the homeowners art work in place. Stunning results are the best reward for any professional with pride in his work.
